My journey in composing for theatre began long ago in the USSR, creating music for both adult and children’s productions. Over the years, my work has evolved, bringing stories to life on stage and screen. Below are some examples of my more recent projects.
Your music is remarkably cinematic, always carrying a deep sense of dramaturgy. After all, dramaturgy is, first and foremost, the movement of a character’s soul—a constant transition from one state to another.
Film “Princess’s War”
Irena, your music is a great contribution to the success of the film.

Film “Adventure”
Irena, your music brings something otherworldly to the film’s atmosphere. It transforms the film for the better, and for that, I am truly grateful to you.

An Almaty security guard becomes obsessed with a beautiful woman he spies across the road from his workplace every night in Adventure, which, unlike what the title might suggest, is a slender and hushed adaptation of Dostoyevsky’s oft-filmed short story “White Nights.” This third feature from Kazakh director Nariman Turebayev should appeal to fans of deliberately paced foreign films.
